Below are frequent questions asked about the Family Birthstone Trees. These are asked by existing customers and potential gift givers. If you have further questions about our genealogy keepsakes, feel free to contact us directly. We are more than happy to help you out with the ordering process.
1. What is the correct layout of the Family Tree?
This is a personalized item, so the layout is really up to you! There is no exact or "correct" way. As a general guideline, you may put the parents' names in the heart, then place the oldest family members near the bottom going up around the Tree to the youngest. Some women choose to use their maiden name. Middle names may also be used. Some families prefer to use last names for spouses.
2. What about Title of Occasion?
To commemorate a special event, you may choose any title. Some suggestions are: Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Our Family Tree, Merry Christmas, Happy Birthday, Happy 50th Anniversary or To Mom with Love.
3. How far back in my genealogy can I go?
The Tree usually represents a family centered from a couple (you, your parents or grandparents), who are represented in the heart of the Tree. Descendants from the people in the heart are grouped around the branches. Ancestors (grandparents or great-grandparents), if you wish to include them, are best placed near the roots of the Tree.
4. What do you do for divorced couples?
A sensitive way to handle this is to have one parent in the heart. When parents have been divorced and remarried it is possible to have more than one spouse on the Tree. This is common when there are children from more than one marriage. If a spouse is deceased and there is a remarriage, you may wish to have both names on the Tree. The main thing to remember is the Tree represents your family and its design is your choice.
5. Can additional wedding dates be included?
Yes, you may add wedding dates and stones representing the wedding dates for married couples.
6. May additional names and dates be added later?
Yes! Send us the Tree along with the names and dates to be added. Be sure to indicate where on the Tree the additions will be located. The addition process takes approximately three weeks. The cost is $50.00 plus an additional $15 per person.
7. In case of a divorce, can a name be removed from the Family Tree?
Yes, it is a simple procedure. Send us the Tree and indicate which name needs to be removed. We refer to this procedure as a correction. Please e-mail or call us us for pricing.
8. I made a mistake. How do I make the correction?
Send us the Tree and indicate the corrections. Please e-mail or call us us for pricing. Of course, if there were an error on our part, there will be no charge.

You will be billed during the initial proofing process. We will need your credit card and expiration date on the order form so that we can begin to create your Family Tree.
14. Will you do research on my family genealogy?
No, but we do recommend www.ancestry.com for family research.
15. There is not enough room to add grandchildren to the online ordering system. How do I do that?
There is a comment or message box at the end of each section. You may add as many family members there as necessary to complete the family.

You will receive up to three free proofs of your family tree design. There will be a $20 charge from the fourth proof on.
